Quick Trip to Target

My daughters have been bugging me all day to go to Target. I finally gave in and I'm glad that I did. My plan was to do the Kashi deal. Turns out they were all out of waffles. If you haven't heard about the Kashi waffle deal you can read about it here.

I was able to find another deal. Here's what I got:

The Goods:
3 Suave Lotions 2.89
1 Suave Shampoo .97
1 Suave Conditioner .97
Total: $10.61

Coupons Used:
3 $1.50/1 Target Q
1 $3/2 Suave MQ
1 $1/2 Suave MQ
1 $.50/1 Suave MQ
Total OOP: $1.61 + tax

That averages about $.32 per item. That's a good deal to me.

I dislike hate Wal-Mart

I hardly ever say that I "HATE" someone or something, but I can honestly say "I HATE WAL-MART". Wal-Mart used to be my one stop shopping spot, until today.

Strike #1:
- In June of this year, I spent 2 to 2 1/2 hours shopping (Super Wal-Mart) . I get tons of fantastic deals, only to be turned away because most of my coupons are interned printed. They say they will not accept them and that they are fraudulant. I write a e-mail to corporate and receive tons of apologies and they invite me back to shop with my internet printed coupons. Fine. I give them the benefit and start shopping there again.

Strike #2:
- This Sunday, My family and I stop in for a few groceries. We spend about a hour there. Again, more problems. They say that I can use only one coupon per like item. I'm free to purchase as many items that I have a coupon for, but in seperate transactions. Meaning, If I had 8 boxes of Yogos and 8 coupons, then I wounld have to do 8 seperate transactions. NEGATIVE. Keep your Yogos.

Strike #3:
- I make a quick run into Wal-Mart on my lunch break. Once again I'm turned away because of internet printed coupons. I'm accused once again of coupon fraud.

Three strikes and your out. I'm done. No more Wally World for me. This just took the cake. Wal-Mart definately has the lowest prices around, but their customer service sucks stinks.

Wal-Mart, GET IT TOGETHER!
But I didn't leave empty handed. Here's what I got:

The Goods:
2 Huggies Clean Team Wipes 1.64
4 Pencil Boxes .25
4 Kotex pads 1.00
2 Colgate Kids Toothpaste 1.50
2 All You Magazines 1.77
1 Hulk PJ's (DS) $5
Total: $19.82

Coupons Used:
1 $3/2 Huggies Clean Team
4 $1/1 Kotex pads
2 $.75/1 Colgate Kids Toothpaste
Total OOP: $11.32

Woooosa!!!!

I'm Baaaaaaaaak!

I know, I've been M.I.A. for a bit. Well, I'm back and I'm going to "TRY" my best to be a good blogger. Haha!

Things around here have been a little crazy. We are 3 weeks into the school year and football season has started. Since, school started up again I thought that all the madness would die down. Boy, was I wrong!

To Be Continued.....

Beef, Mushroom, & Green bean Stir-fry...Yum!

Tonight's dinner was a huge success. I never seen the kids clean their plate so fast. This meal was yummy and easy on the pockets.

Chuck Roast = $ 4.72
Green beans = $ 1.29
Mushrooms = $ 0.99
Onion = $ 0.25
Garlic = $0.05
Rice = $ 3.00
Total = $10.30

For a family of six, that brings the total to $1.72 per person. Pretty good, huh?

Summer is officially here....

Weather here has been in the high 90's and the kids were getting antsy. So, I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I thought, "why not water the grass and take the kiddies out of their misery". Minus the older girls of course, they are way too cool to run through the sprinklers. ****rolls eyes****

With only two more days left of school, keeping the kids busy is definitely going to be a challenge. I'm on the look out for inexpensive, yet fun activities that we can do with the kids. So, if you have any ideas, please share. (My sanity is begging you) >= ).

Over the weekend Big Papa and I brought the kids to the drive in here, where we enjoyed the "Kung Fu Panda" and "Iron Man". The admission price is $ 6.75 per adult and $ 1 for children five to eleven. For the total of $16.50, not bad for a family of 6 and a double feature. This weekend we plan on going to the park for a picnic and letting the kids run wild.

Menu Plan Monday

In my attempt to become more organized, I came across Laura at I'm an Organizing Junkie.com. She has great tips and challenges that will motivate you to become more organized.

One great tip that I loved was her menu planning idea. I love the idea of having a menu laid out for the week. No thinking, no hassle, and no unexpected trips to the grocery store. Now all I need is someone to cook it. Sigh!

Here's our menu for the week.

Breakfast:
Monday: Cereal/Fruit
Tuesday: French Toast/Fruit
Wednesday: Cereal/Fruit
Thursday: Banana Muffins/Fruit
Friday: Cinnamon Rolls/Fruit
Saturday: Bacon/Eggs/Hash Browns
Sunday: Sausage/Eggs/French Toast/Hash Browns ***Made by kids 4 Dad***

Dinner:
Monday: Hamburgers/Potatoe Salad/Chips
Tuesday: Beef, Mushroom & Green Beans Stir-Fry/Rice
Wednesday: Meat Loaf/Sauteed Cabbage/Corn Bread
Thursday: Hot Dogs/French Fries
Friday: Ground Pork with Bok Choy/Rice

So, Thursday nights is my free night. My cousin and I meet every Thursday for our Weight Watcher meeting, dinner and shopping. This is my solution to a hectic week. Oh, how I long for Thursday nights.

My Theme Song! What's Yours?

Despite the full agenda, dirty dishes, piles of laundry, and bickering between the kids, "I wouldn’t change my life, my life’s JUST FINE" - Mary J. Blidge

Let it go……
Can’t let this thing called love get away from you
Feel free right now, going do what you want to do
Can’t let nobody take it away, from you, from me, from we
No time for moping around, are you kidding?
And no time for negative vibes, cause I’m winning
It’s been a long week, I put in my hardest
Gonna live my life, feels so good to get it right

So I like what I see when I’m looking at me
When I’m walking past the mirror
No stress through the night, at a time in my life
Ain’t worried about if you feel it
Got my head on straight, I got my mind right
I aint gonna let you kill it
You see I wouldn’t change my life, my life’s just…..

Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Just fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
You see I wouldn’t change my life, my life’s just fine

Feels so good, when you’re doing all the things that you want to do
Get the best out of life, treat yourself to something new
Keep your head up high
In yourself, believe in you, believe in me
Having a really good time, I’m not complaining
And I’m a still wear a smile if it raining
I got to enjoy myself regardless
I appreciate life, I’m so glad I got mine

So I like what I see when I’m looking at me
When I’m walking past the mirror
Aint worried about you and what you gonna do
I’m a lady so I must stay classy
Got to keep it hot, keep it together
If I want to get better
You see I wouldn’t change my life, my life’s just…..
Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Just fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
You see I won’t change my life, my life’s just fine

I aint gon’ let nothing get in my way
(I ain't gone let nobody bring me down, no, no, no)
No matter what nobody has to say
(No way, no way, no way)
I ain’t gon’ let nothing get in my way
No matter what nobody has to say

Feels so good, when you’re doing all the things that you want to do
Get the best out of life, treat yourself to something new
It’s a really good thing to say
That I won’t change my life, my life’s just fine

Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Just fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
You see I won’t change my life, my life’s just fine

So I like what I see when I’m looking at me
When I’m walking past the mirror
No stress through the night, at a time in my life
Ain’t worried about if you feel it
Got my head on straight, I got my mind right
I ain’t gonna let you kill it
You see I wouldn’t change my life, my life’s just…..

Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Just fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
You see I wouldn’t change my life, my life’s just fine

Garage Sales, Who Knew?

This past weekend my cousin invited my family and I to participate in her 2 day garage sale that her community hosts annually. We were able to get rid of a lot of our junk and at the same time we earned $370. We also donated the items left over to the Salvation Army and received a tax deduction. Woo Hoo! I guess "Someone else's junk, truly is another person's treasure".

Here are some of the treasures that I came a cross.

Bombay Set = $ 0

9 Picture Frames = $ 0

2 CD Racks = $ 0

Not bad for free items, don't you think?

The Journey Begins....

Welcome to my world of beautiful chaos. This is my first attempt at writing a blog. I'm not much of a blogger, but I thought this would be a great way to view my progress as I become a "Domestic Goddess".

I am a working, mother of four monsters (ages 13, 11, 7 & 2). Like many other women out there, I am desperately trying to get my home, kids and myself in order. From work, school, and extra-curricular activities, there never seems to be a dull moment. Aside from work, home and kids, I am in a constant battle with my weight. I’ve been following the "WW Core Plan", in hopes to bring sexy back. Deep down inside, a healthy, thin woman is screaming to come out. Lol.
