Beef, Mushroom, & Green bean Stir-fry...Yum!

Tonight's dinner was a huge success. I never seen the kids clean their plate so fast. This meal was yummy and easy on the pockets.

Chuck Roast = $ 4.72
Green beans = $ 1.29
Mushrooms = $ 0.99
Onion = $ 0.25
Garlic = $0.05
Rice = $ 3.00
Total = $10.30

For a family of six, that brings the total to $1.72 per person. Pretty good, huh?

Summer is officially here....

Weather here has been in the high 90's and the kids were getting antsy. So, I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I thought, "why not water the grass and take the kiddies out of their misery". Minus the older girls of course, they are way too cool to run through the sprinklers. ****rolls eyes****

With only two more days left of school, keeping the kids busy is definitely going to be a challenge. I'm on the look out for inexpensive, yet fun activities that we can do with the kids. So, if you have any ideas, please share. (My sanity is begging you) >= ).

Over the weekend Big Papa and I brought the kids to the drive in here, where we enjoyed the "Kung Fu Panda" and "Iron Man". The admission price is $ 6.75 per adult and $ 1 for children five to eleven. For the total of $16.50, not bad for a family of 6 and a double feature. This weekend we plan on going to the park for a picnic and letting the kids run wild.

Menu Plan Monday

In my attempt to become more organized, I came across Laura at I'm an Organizing Junkie.com. She has great tips and challenges that will motivate you to become more organized.

One great tip that I loved was her menu planning idea. I love the idea of having a menu laid out for the week. No thinking, no hassle, and no unexpected trips to the grocery store. Now all I need is someone to cook it. Sigh!

Here's our menu for the week.

Monday: Cereal/Fruit
Tuesday: French Toast/Fruit
Wednesday: Cereal/Fruit
Thursday: Banana Muffins/Fruit
Friday: Cinnamon Rolls/Fruit
Saturday: Bacon/Eggs/Hash Browns

Gotta Love Thursdays!

So, Thursday nights is my free night. My cousin and I meet every Thursday for our Weight Watcher meeting, dinner and shopping. This is my solution to a hectic week. Oh, how I long for Thursday nights.
